Aleph Bet Hebrew School will follow recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local health guidelines.  We have designed a Hebrew School program that will cater to all of our students, no matter the situation, for the upcoming school year.

We will be offering a choice of two tracks. In each track children will be divided by grade. There will be a limited amount of children per a class. The two tracks are –

1)   In person Hebrew School – on Sunday from 10:00am - 11:30am
OR Wednesday from 4:30pm - 6:00pm

2)   Virtual Hebrew School – on Tuesday.
Virtual Hebrew School will be with live teachers via zoom.
1st &2nd grade - 4pm – 5pm
3rd - 6th grade - 5:15pm – 6:30pm

We have modified Hebrew School to ensure the children's safety while providing children with an outstanding Hebrew School program.

As policies are updated or lessened based on CDC Guidelines, this page will be updated.

Monitoring Students - Wellness Checks

·         Parents will be asked to perform screenings in accordance with a symptom checklist each morning prior to sending their child(ren) to Hebrew school. (Aleph Bet Hebrew School staff reserves the right to decline entry for any child and/or parent/guardian who looks and/or sounds unwell.)  Click here to download a wellness note for your child to bring to Hebrew School.

 

·         If a staff member or student travel to a hot spot, they are required to quarantine before returning to Hebrew School.

·         Staff or students are to notify Aleph Bet Hebrew School if an absence is Covid-19 related. Or if they have had exposure to an individual, who has tested positive for Covid-19.  Documentation of clearance to return to Hebrew School must be provided by the doctor.  

Hand Washing & Masks

  • Immediately after entry into Hebrew School, all staff and students will be required to wash their hands with alcohol-based hand sanitzer or warm water and soap for 20 seconds.

  • Hand washing will be scheduled frequently throughout Hebrew School. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will also be applied throughout the day.

  • Staff will remind students to avoid touching their eyes or face throughout the day.

  • All staff and students will be required to wear a cloth mask or a disposable mask within the classrooms and hallways.


Cleaning/Sanitizing

  • Aleph Bet Hebrew School will implement sanitation procedures throughout the day, disinfecting high volume surfaces regularly. Staff will have hand sanitizer, vinyl gloves and anti-bacterial wipes in each classroom.
     
  • Children will bring in their own supply box to use during class. If a shared supply is needed, it will be disinfected before and after use.

  • Our custodial crew will clean and sanitize all spaces at the end of each day.

Snack

  • Individual prepackage snacks will be given to the children daily.

  • If you would like to send in snack it should be packed in disposable containers and easily opened and eaten by your child will little staff help.

Personal Item Requirements

·         No toys or stuffed animals permitted. All personal items brought to Hebrew School, should be taken home daily.

Drop Off and Pickup Procedures

·         Please observe social distancing - the 6 feet distance from other families when arriving at the Lubavitch center. Children will hand in their wellness note and then be asked to clean their hands with hand sanitizer, before entering the building. A staff member will then bring the children to their classroom.

·         Due to the CDC guidelines we ask parents not to enter the building.

  • Only essential visitors will be allowed into the building.

Physical Distancing

  • Classes will include small groups, the same group members each day.

·     Staff will be distanced from students by six feet where feasible. Students will likewise be distanced six feet between other students.

·   All desks will be six feet apart and face the teacher.

Staff Requirements & Training

  • All staff are required to wear masks.

  • Daily COVID-19 health screening survey to be completed by staff.

  • Staff will undergo daily temperature checks.

  • Staff will observe frequent and scheduled hand washing.

Policies

  • Staff or students showing a fever of 100.4 or higher will be excluded from participating in Hebrew School.

  • Staff or students exhibiting additional symptoms, including but not limited to persistent cough and/or shortness of breath will also be excluded from Hebrew School.

  • If a student develops symptoms after admittance to Hebrew School, they will be separated from their class until pickup by parent/guardian.
