📌  HOW RELIGIOUS IS THIS CAMP?

The Brazil Trip is a Chabad organization, and as such, our philosophy is to give the participants an awe-inspiring trip as well as a Jewish experience all wrapped up in one. While we are fully accepting of each participant and the many different family backgrounds and affiliations, this camp is held to a Chabad standard which means: we will do a tefillah each day (in the most magnificent natural surroundings!), all food and snacks are strictly Kosher and Chalav Yisroel, and we will all keep two incredible Shabbats together. All particpants must be Jewish according to Halacha.

📌  HOW MUCH SPENDING MONEY WILL MY CHILD NEED?

Sleeping accommodations, meals, in-trip transportation, and all program activities are covered by the core program fee. The only spending that is up to your teen’s discretion, for items such as snacks, souvenirs, and gifts. We estimate that $50/week is sufficient to cover all such expenses.

Food is all-inclusive (though campers occasionally have opportunities to purchase supplementary food). We can accommodate some allergies and special dietary needs upon request.

The health and safety of our campers is our number one priority. There will be a staff member with certified First Aid on the trip. Prior to departure, campers will be briefed on water, sun and trip safety.

📌  HOW MANY STAFF WILL BE JOINING?

We always have a 1/6 staff/camper ratio. Chaim and Nina will be joined by an additional two chaperons who will provide safety, guidance, and fun. We are also dedicated to inspiring the campers with a sense of pride and Jewish identity that will make the trip all the more meaningful and life-changing.

📌 WILL THE CAMPERS BE DOING ANY COMMUNITY SERVICE?

YES! Part of the philosophy of the trip is to encourage our campers to feel a sense of communal responsibility. Teens will have the chance to join and participate in these community services (LINCS accredited).

If a payment plan was selected, it is expected that the balance will be paid in full to cover the spot taken. The only exception to this policy would occur if the camper is able to find a suitable and equal replacement, providing he or she meets the approval of our staff. With regard to flight reimbursement, this must be dealt with directly with the airline.
