Rabbi Yehuda Shemtov, Senior Rabbi of the Newtwon Shul, and his wife Miriam founded Lubavitch of Bucks County over 30 years ago. Their signature warmth and welcoming embrace caught on quickly and touched the heart and souls of individuals throughout the area from all religious backgrounds. Everyone felt welcome around the table.
With a host of innovative and creative programs and approaches to making Judaism accessible and meaningful, Jewish. Done joyfully! wasn't just a slogan, but a game changer for the Bucks County community and, by example, communities across the globe. The success of this fresh and personable approach led to the formation of The Shul. First in Yardley then expanding to Newtown where they continue to guide our community with the same embracing feeling to this very day.
The Shemtovs have 7 children and are blessed with grandchildren who continue to share this infectious love and excitement for Judaism.
Rabbi Aryeh Weinstein
Rabbi
Rabbi Aryeh Weinstein serves as the Rabbi of the Newtown Shul and holds the position of Director at the Jay Michael Swartz Jewish Learning Academy. He is recognized for his contributions. Rabbi Weinstein is the host of the popular Beginning Within podcast and the visionary behind the Bar Mitzvah Prep School. Additionally, he is the accomplished author of the insightful book, "It’s Within You". Collaborating closely with his devoted wife, Rosie, together they play an integral role in guiding and nurturing our community. Their family is abundantly blessed with nine children and two grandchildren, embodying the values they espouse.
