Dear Friends,
Mazal Tov!
Today we celebrate an important milestone for the Jewish community: The Bar-Mitzvah of the Lubavitch of Bucks County.
The Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration of a young child is a significant turning point. It is a time when all the previous childhood experiences begin to be channeled and focused on guiding the young boy or girl as they mature into an adult - creating an identity and making their imprint on society. I always tell young children that their Bar/Bat Mitzvah is not a graduation; it is a beginning. So it is in the life of our organization, Lubavitch of Bucks County. Although 13 years seems to be a long time and so much has been accomplished, it is really only the beginning. We view all the success that we have experienced over the past years merely a preparation. As we celebrate our Bar-Mitzvah and thus reach the age of maturity, we prepare to serve the Jewish Community with greater vigor and a broader spectrum of programming.
A major component of this growth is the establishment of the Glazier Jewish Center which will open in Spring ’05. With our new home, and permanent address, we will be able to considerably expand the breath and depth of our educational, social, and religious programming. Over the next few months we will vigorously work to achieve this goal.
As you read through this journal and learn more about our organization, hopefully you’ll be inspired to take an active role in assisting us to share the spiritual warmth of our traditions in these challenging times.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that gave of their time, effort, and financial resources to allow all this to happen.
I would like to conclude by congratulating our honorees & awardees, and thanking them along with our chair people who have made this evening a great success.
