We have been participants of Lubavitch for about ten years.  We have happily watched as our numbers have increased over the years while still retaining the warmth and sense of community.  This has largely been due to the leadership of Rabbi Shemtov and his wife Miriam who brought Lubavitch to Bucks County.

Our family attends Shabbat and Holiday services where we have been inspired by Rabbi Shemtov’s speeches on the weekly parsha and warmed by Miriam’s cholent and her words of wisdom.  They have both been there for our family so many times, especially with the loss of David’s parents, of blessed memories, and this is typical of the teachings they have nurtured in the community.

Both David and I have been fortunate to attend classes that were offered.  I know how much I benefited from Rabbi Weinstein’s wonderful class on the meaning of prayer and David has continued to learn with Rabbi Shemtov for almost 3 years.

Our family enjoyed the many programs Lubavitch offers.  Our son Lee, who is 13 has participated in the “Sukkah Raising”, the Lag B’Omer bonfire, and always enjoys the Purim Seudah.  For me, the women’s Rosh Chodesh group is very special.  There, Rosie Weinstein creatively provides an opportunity for the women in our community to learn and participate in our many traditions.

This is the Bar Mitzvah year of Lubavitch of Bucks County.  It is also the year we celebrated our son Lee’s Bar Mitzvah.  Lee prepared for his Bar Mitzvah under the expert tutelage of Rabbi Weinstein and we thank him for his time and patience.  But as they say, it takes a village or a community to raise a child.  And for this, we are truly grateful to Lubavitch of Bucks County.
